The Best Tips On How To Get People To Read Your Blog

How to Get People to Read Your Blog

Getting a blog started can be a lot of work. But it’s also a time of excitement. You’ve finally decided to branch out and build a way to earn money for yourself through your own work.

However, as amazing as this sounds, it takes a lot of dedication and persistence to pull off a highly successful blog. There are a lot of things that go into a blog behind the scenes. But one thing is for certain: to make money from a blog, you need an audience.

You know you need people to read your blog if you’re going to make money from it. But do you know how to get people to read your blog? This can be a bit of a challenge if you’re not familiar with how it all works.

However, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best tips on getting people to your blog. If you can keep these tips in mind when creating your blog, then you’ll be on your way to success in no time! Are you ready to gain some followers?

1. Have a Focus or a Niche

The first thing you’ll want to do is understand what your focus or niche is. As much as you’d like to discuss a wide range of topics on your blog, this isn’t the best way to attract a large audience.

If you have something that you can focus on, then you can learn who your target audience is and use this information when marketing.

Once you have one successful blog targeted towards one specific niche, you can then create other blogs focused around different topics. For example, if you enjoy writing about home products and services, then you can create a ton of blog topics geared towards this niche.

You can include a range of things, such as the best green cleaning supplies, where to get the best sushi, or how to decorate a guest bedroom.

2. Use Intriguing Headlines

Once you know what your main focus is going to be, you can start writing your blogs. When it comes to writing your blogs, think back to middle school and high school when your English teachers used to tell you that your writings need a hook to captivate the reader.

Well, it’s time to put this advice to use. It’s not every day that we actually use something we learned in middle school in a real-life situation, but here we are. So, when thinking of a headline or title for your individual blog posts, make sure that it’s something that’s going to pull the reader in.

You want to create headlines that draw just about everyone in, even those who wouldn’t normally be your targeted audience. For example, instead of writing, “5 ways to study well,” you could write, “Don’t fail another test, learn these 5 pro studying habits!”

3. Write High-Quality Content

Now, after you figure out an intriguing headline for your post, be sure to follow it up with some awesome high-quality content. There are so many blogs out there about anything you can possibly think of. Because of this, you have a bit of competition.

Rise above the rest by only giving your audience the best of the best. Write something that holds value to your readers. You want your content to be something that people want to read and then enjoy so much that they keep coming back for more.

To do so, ensure that what you write is relevant to your niche, timely, entertaining, and interesting.

4. Understand Basic SEO

So creating a successful blog is only about the actual writing itself. Like we mentioned before, there’s a lot more that goes into behind the scenes. That’s where basic SEO comes into play.

SEO is search engine optimization. This is what’s going to send your blog posts to the top of the link lists on different search engines. To help your seo, be sure to use popular keywords, images, subheaders, bullet points, numbers, and anything else that helps make your content easy to read.

Using good SEO practices is a great way to draw an audience to your page.

5. Invest in LinkedIn Groups

If you don’t already have a LinkedIn account, then it’s time to invest in one. Signing up is free and all you’ll need is a bit of time to fill out your profile and a nice image of yourself for your profile picture. Once you have your account created, use it to your blog’s advantage.

You can find plenty of people asking questions on LinkedIn groups. Forums are then created where people are asking and answering one another’s questions. What you need to do is look around to see what questions people are asking concerning your niche and then create a blog that answers those questions.

Then, take a link to your blog post and paste it into the forum as your way of answering their questions. These forums are very popular and some even receive thousands of views!

6. Stay Active on Twitter

Just as LinkedIn can help you, so can Twitter. Stay active on Twitter and use it to build an audience. Because of Twitter’s popularity, it’s fairly simple to build an audience related to your niche. In many cases, this can be done in as little as one day!

As you build this audience, be sure to paste a couple of links to your blog posts. As long as the links are relevant to what it is you’re posting, you’ll start generating traffic in no time. If you were able to build an audience on Twitter, then you’ll be able to do so on your blog as well!

7. Build a Blog Support Group

To be successful at just about anything, we need a good support system. With that being said, consider building a blog support group. Network with other bloggers either in the same niche or related to your niche.

Comment on one another’s posts, link to one another’s posts, and promote one another’s posts. The best way to work with someone in this manner is to build a team of bloggers who are related to your niche but aren’t direct competition. If you can work with one another, then you’re sure to bring success to each other!

8. Promote Your Blog

Just as you’d need to promote a business, you need to promote your blog, because it’s just that: a business. Use all of your social media accounts to promote your blog. Use at least 3 different platforms for advertising your blog.

Share your new blog posts on your personal or business Facebook account, post a relevant picture on Instagram and provide a link to your blog, create a short video for Snapchat discussing and explaining your new blog and why people should check it out.

There are so many ways to promote your blog, and it’s important to do it as much as possible. A good tip to remember is to treat the link to your blog like you would a professional email address. Put it on your business cards, window display, and more.

9. Build an Email List

Building an email address is a pretty simple way to bring an audience to your blog, but it’s oftentimes overlooked. You want to start building this email address now. Even if you’re not ready to start sending emails out yet, collect as many email addresses as you can now.

You can begin building this list by adding a call to action at the end of each blog post, advising readers to sign up for your email list for future updates, helpful tips, and more!

10. Stay Consistent

At the end of that day, it’s important to remember that you always want to remain consistent. You’ll need to post on a regular basis. Consider coming up with a schedule of how often you post and stick to it.

Your audience is going to expect you to post every day at 9 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm, if that’s your normal schedule. Failure to stick with a consistent schedule could lead to you losing followers.
